But First… (Ninja Coffee Bar)

*This is a sponsored post by NinjaKitchens. All opinions are my own!*

Dustin doesn’t understand this sign…probably because he’s not a mom:P Today we are talking all about coffee…the thing that has kept moms functioning since 1671 (I found that number on the internet so it must be true!!). I will be the first to admit that I spend way to much money on specialty coffees at coffee shops…like every trip to Target…but no more! Now I have a Ninja Coffee Bar so I can make all of those specialty drinks at home for pennies on the dollar!

Before my coffee bar showed up, I checked out Ninja’s website to learn a little more about all this coffee maker could do. I have seen the commercials on TV for it, but sometimes items don’t live up to the hipe (Spoiler alert: this one does!). If you don’t believe me check out all the fun coffees (plus recipes) I have made and we have only had our Ninja Coffee Bar System two weeks! One thing I love about this coffee system is that you can brew both carafe’s and singles serve and it doesn’t require pods. That’s right, you just add coffee right into the permanent filter. If you do want to use a disposable filter make sure you use the cone-shaped ones like below. I like to use these because I use pre-ground coffee as opposed to grinding my own and these help the smaller grounds from sneaking through.

So once my coffee system was all set up and ready to go (heads up it requires a system cleaning which takes about 1 hour), I started with my go to coffee. Iced coffee with creamer. I filled my “mason jar” up with ice, turned the dial to travel size, added 3 small Ninja scoops of coffee to the pod, hit the “Over Ice Brew” button and let the coffee pot do it’s thing.

Once it was done brewing, I just added a splash of creamer and my drink was good to go.

Dustin takes a coffee with him to work every night and I brewed him a pot of coffee to fill his travel mug up. There was a little left over so I took the opportunity to make coffee ice cubes (that way my iced coffees wouldn’t get watered down from ice cubes once it starts to melt.)

Notice that the “HOT SURFACE” light is on?  The heated surface only comes on when the carafe is brewed, not single cups.

I used my frozen coffee cubes the next morning for my iced coffee, brewed the same way as the day before, over ice.

There is a drip stop, so you can start drinking your coffee instead of waiting for it to finish dripping.

Eventually I decided to venture away from my normal over ice with creamer and try a more specialty drink. The first one I made was an “Iced Caramel Macchiato” which is quickly becoming a favorite. Recipe at the bottom of the post!

Then I tried a fancy cappuccino. I mean how gorgeous is that? Recipe at the bottom!

And obviously there had to be blended drink as well. Recipe below as well.

I didn’t mention it before but the Ninja Coffee System comes with a hot/cold travel mug. You can brew hot drinks into it or cold drinks over ice. There is even a straw. I made a regular iced coffee in it to try it out and it kept my drink cold all morning because see first picture #momlife.

When its time for a system cleaning (calcium build up from the water), the button lights up to inform you it is ready to be cleaned. Cleaning your system ensures optimal flavor for your coffee experience.

Also want to know the worlds greatest #kitchenhack or would it be #ninjahack? The built-in frother makes the best chocolate milk because it mixes the milk and syrup perfectly!

  1. I’m curious? I saw a special for black Friday and ordered one. I’ve been reading through the reviews on Amazon and other places and seeing lots of horror stories about leaking and how the clean light would come on and stay on. Some people said the clean light was coming on after 2 or 3 different uses.

Is your unit still working are you still happy with it?

    1. I am still very happy with ours! I still use ours every day. I haven’t had any issues with leaking, although I have noticed sometimes the clean light comes on after a few uses like mentioned above. I don’t clean it as soon as the light comes on every time since it doesn’t affect the quality/taste of the coffee. Sometimes I make my coffee extra strong #momlife and I think that may be why the light comes on sooner. Since there aren’t hidden tubes inside the machine I’m not too concerned about the “cleaning” of it right away. You will love it, it is honestly the best coffee pot I’ve owned. You can do so many things with it!
